C-MEP is a joint effort between Amnesty International USA’s Crisis Prevention and Response Unit and diverse faculty at Florida State, the University of Michigan and the University of North Texas in order to develop a volunteer video validation network staffed by college students in the US. This effort was initiated by Scott Edwards and Christoph Koettl at AI (USA) as well as Will Moore and Scott Meachum at Florida State.
Essentially, students are trained for several weeks and put through a variety of certification tests. Once certified the volunteer is ready to receive videos and assist Amnesty International.
